There are vanishingly few places these days that don’t sell you. If you’re sick of being sold, and if you have the means to do so, then maybe you should consider supporting those sorts of sites.
They just want there to always be a class of people who are forever in debt. Whether it’s chattel slavery, prison, student loan debt, medical debt, renters who will never be able to own a house, etc.
The problem with “you can choose to wear a mask or not,” is that masks mostly protect other people. So if you choose not to mask, you’re actually removing someone’s ability to try to protect themselves.
We know that if you wear a mask it does protect you, but only marginally. In the end, it’s everyone wearing masks that prevents the spread of covid from one person to another. This is because if you have covid the mask catches the viral particles you are exhaling before they can get into the air, where covid is airborne and hangs in the air like smoke for several hours.
People who are masking are mostly protecting you. If you’re in the presence of someone wearing a mask, it’s literally common courteousy to do the same.
A GOOD mask protects the person who wears it! If you are still wearing a cloth or surgical mask, it’s time to upgrade to something that protects you. There are many options, and what you are looking for is an N95, P100, kn95 or kf94. These masks are designed to protect the *wearer* and not just the people around them.
The air inside an N95 mask is usually about 100 times cleaner than the air outside of it. A p100 mask, especially with an elastomeric seal, is usually giving you air that’s 1,000 times cleaner. That’s less than a .01% leakage! These masks WILL keep you safe in situations where other people aren’t masking, especially if you are mindful of minimizing your exposure time.
It’s important that people know that they can protect themselves with a good mask. It is meaningful to protect yourself and being selfish about your health also ends up protecting the people around you.
If you don’t have access to good masks and live in the United States, there are organizations that will send you masks for free in the mail! I am part of one, and you can reach out for good quality masks. You deserve to be protected, and you should have masks that will keep you safe.
